17th October 2010 - Public Talk - The Life and works of Eileen Gray
Wexford Arts Centre, in partnership with Lost Weekend invited an exhibition
dedicated to the life and work of one of the most remarkable Irish women and
artists of the 20th, the highly acclaimed designer and architect Eileen Gray (1878-1976).
Born in Co. Wexford, Gray has long been considered internationally as the finest designer
to come out of Ireland. The talk by Yvonne Farrell & Shelley McNamara,
Directors of Grafton Architects, was quite infomative.
It seems to me that Eilieen Gray, who only came to architecture at the age of 46,
was a Advocate of 'slow architecture', way before the term 'slow architecture' was coined.

29-30th March 2010 - Passive House Workshop
Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland ran a Passive House Planning Package Workshop
to teach the use of the PHPP 2007 passive haus software.
This intensive workshop now allows us to understand the principles of
Passive House design and the software (which we have purchased) helps to realise it.

Zeno is NOT a Certified Passive House designer,
but has been designing low energy dwellings with passive solar gain for a number of years.

1st February 2010 - A Space for Learning
The Reception

A Space for Learning is a design competition initiated by
the Irish Architecture Foundation to challenge current thinking
on school design, creating an opportunity for architects to
collaborate with the end-users of educational spaces -the students.
Zeno will be working with a chosen few of Gorey Community School.
Rather than doing fictitious work we thought we would tackle a real problem.
We decided that we would redesign the main entrance/ reception area of the school.
